Doesn't it get difficult to continue when you are not seeing the results? This is what I thought to myself when I started doing my meditation practice and didn't see any benefit. Watching people effortlessly meditate and feeling blissful made me doubt if I could ever do it. I felt the same way in yoga. I had a lot of trouble getting into the poses correctly. Although I knew things would improve with time, still it’s difficult to continue.
You can be at any walk of life, but these few things will surely help you: ask yourself what result you are aiming for. In my case, I used to have this false result set to do Yoga like people who have been practicing for so long, but my result was to just start getting yoga poses right. At every step, the result that you are expecting will be different, so make an analysis of where you are and what results you are seeking.
Secondly, I realized I was comparing myself with others, so I started to compare myself with myself. Am I doing better than yesterday? This made me feel much better as I was more aware of my progress, and that gave me a feeling of accomplishment.
From my experience, I've learned that it's important to have patience and to focus on your own progress rather than comparing yourself to others. It's easy to get discouraged when we don't see immediate results, but progress takes time. Additionally, setting realistic goals and being mindful of what we are seeking can help us stay motivated and focused on the journey rather than just the destination.
