Let me share the moment that changed my perspective💥. I'm usually the easygoing person with lots of friends. Making buddies never seemed hard – until my not-so-solo trip to Goa.🏖️
So, here's the deal: My couple friends wanted their "special time" in Goa, they asked me to join, as one more friend was coming, so I tagged in. Sound strange? It gets better. No other friend came, I ended up alone, and wandering without a travel buddy. They were together the whole time and we did not spend any time together after reaching our hotel. All this, when I never thought I'd do solo travel.😶
While I journeyed, I started questioning. Why am I here? 😑Why the loneliness despite my many friends? That's when it hit me: I had no personal boundaries. People liked me because I'd go with the flow. On this trip, I realized I was being used as a last resort.
This journey was my wakeup call. I saw how vital boundaries are. It's not about having a ton of friends, but having quality ones. I found the courage to say no, to not always be agreeable. 🙅♂️
🎁This trip gave me a gift: understanding the value of my own company. Spending time alone taught me more than relying on others ever could. Exploring new places, embracing different cultures – I learned more about myself than I thought possible.
So, here's my recommendation: Take time for yourself. A solo trip? Even better. You'll discover uncharted parts of yourself, set boundaries, and appreciate the difference between friends and true friends. 🌍🌟
